Sir Syed Mentoring and Assistance Fellowship (SSMAF) is a mentorship and fellowship program for AMU students or alumni. It aims to provide talented and deserving students with the necessary guidance and support to achieve their academic and professional goals. We are committed to carrying forward the legacy of Sir Syed Ahmed Khan, the founder of Aligarh Muslim University and a visionary leader who advocated for education as the key to progress and community development.

SSMAF aims to provide international exposure and development opportunities to students and alumni of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), India. In 2017, the AMUSO Facebook group was established to assist AMU students in pursuing higher education at prestigious global universities. The group has successfully aided numerous students in securing admissions with full financial aid. The AMUSO platform offers comprehensive guidance throughout the application process, including requirements, procedures, and documentation such as CV, motivation letter, and visa processes. However, many deserving students need financial support to meet standardized test and application requirements, hindering their progress. Hence, SSMAF was launched in Dec. 2021 (Launching Ceremony-Youtube) to provide financial support for such expenses and offer superior guidance. This opportunity is open to students from all courses and faculties at AMU.

SSMAF is dedicated to facilitating the holistic development of AMU students and alumni by providing individualized mentoring and guidance from AMU alumni currently studying in countries such as the United States of America, Canada, United Kingdom, France, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Germany, Malaysia, Korea, Taiwan, etc. This assistance helps students navigate the intricate process of studying abroad, including the selection of the right institution and program, and securing visas and funding. SSMAF regularly conducts webinars, expert talks, and workshops, assiduously striving to accomplish its mission of steering AMU students and alumni toward international universities and programs. The platform has successfully brought together a remarkable community of over 13,000 AMU students and faculty from across the globe, with more than 600 students already greatly benefiting from this exceptional initiative.
