INTRODUCTION
The Sir Syed
Mentoring and Assistance Fellowship (SSMAF) is a mentorship and
fellowship program for AMU students or alumni. It aims to
provide talented and deserving students with the
necessary guidance and support to achieve their academic and
professional goals. We are committed to carrying forward the legacy of Sir Syed
Ahmed Khan, the founder of Aligarh Muslim University and a visionary leader who
advocated for education as the key to progress and community development. This
fellowship program is established and managed by AMU Alumni, a
group of former Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) students from around the world.
It is a merit-based program designed to assist AMU students from diverse
faculties, such as engineering, sciences, life sciences, medicine,
arts, business, commerce, law, and education, who strongly aspire to
pursue higher studies at prestigious universities worldwide.
The SSMAF program is dedicated to provide
financial assistance, and exceptional mentorship and guidance from experts in
various fields of study. A rigorous selection process is implemented to ensure
the selection of deserving and dedicated talents among our applicants. The
program’s primary source of funding is from the well-established global
community of AMU alumni and generous stipends and salaries provided by
our team members. The SSMAF will provide financial assistance to awardees for
standardized English proficiency test (IELTS/TOEFL) fees and a high-quality
mentorship for the current session. However, it is important to note that the
provision of application fees for a few universities is currently planned for
the future, which is subjected to sufficient funding from AMU alumni or other
sources. Once the necessary funding is secured, the SSMAF intends to offer this
additional support to applicants.
